So you have been going along well and using your wireless connection successfully. One day you reboot your computer and now you are getting this strange error and your linksys network monitor is no longer showing up in the system tray in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.

What you have experienced is the corruption of the gifs created by the Linksys WLAN service when it starts. For some reason, some of the wirless adapter software from Linksys dynamically creates the gifs for the application during startup of the service.

The way to fix this is go to the temp directory and find the .gif files. If you see some that start with WM… delete these files and restart your computer. This should fix the problem
