Kansas City Computer Repair: Internal Error 2753…NSWSTE.DLL on Norton System Works Install

            When installing a Norton product such as Norton System Works you may encounter an error that reports an “Internal error 2753” along with a dll such as nswste.dll. This problem results from traces of an earlier version of a Norton still lingering on your computer.


The first step is to go to you add/remove programs in control panel and search for any existing Norton/Symantec security products. If products exist, remove them.In some cases, no Norton programs will be found in the add/remove programs dialog within control panel; however, traces of Norton programs may still exist in the registry and in directories.There are three tools provided by Symantec that can resolve your problem: msfix.bat, symnrt.exe and symmsicleanup.regThe instructions on how to use the above tools can be found on Symantec’s website.
