A Guide to Fix My Wireless Network Trouble
Wireless internet network is the only network solution available that gives you the freedom to be online without extensive cabling. Unfortunately, wireless internet is relatively more vulnerable to cyber attacks, particularly if it is inactive for extended periods. The following lists are pointers to help you if your wireless network is having trouble.
- Shut down the power system for 30 seconds to give the system recycle.
- Check and update the network setting in order to verify the IP address and other related information.
- Check the functionality and performance of the network card. To identify a malfunctioning adapter you should check by disabling the cards one by one.
- Check the signal between your laptop and the router by getting closer the laptop to the router. If your laptop works better then the problem is the low signal strength because of the poor internet access.
- Check the wireless router and access point’s performance. Try to acclimatize the antenna in order to get the optimum signal. Most wireless routers should usually come with omni-directional antenna to send signals in all directions - a situation appropriate for a square shaped network.
- Try changing the location of the router and access point. Ideally they should be placed centrally between all of the computers.
- Check the signal performance by using the monitoring utility that typically comes with the access point.
- Make sure your devices are showing all of the correct lights. There is no universal standard to indicate router functionality so check the devices manuals to see which lights indicates what function.
- Check the SSIDs and channel wireless network by wireless internet utilities.
- Check and make sure that all of the correct drivers have been installed.
- Check the configuration settings for encryption keys.
- If your wireless network still not working then you should contact the manufacturer of your wireless router or a network supports solutions company.
